If You Were Mine..

A Love Poem 'If You Were Mine' by Ronald Doe.
If You Were Mine

If you were mine
The sun would shine
All the dark clouds would disappear
Amidst blue skies
Sweet lullabies
Would be the music in the air
We’d laugh and sing
The sound of spring
Would whistle through the high pine trees
We’d have a thrill
As daffodils
Were dancing in the summer breeze
If you were mine
I’d wine and dine
The world's most fascinating girl
Without a doubt
I’d take you out
We’d go dancing and twist and twirl
We’d cut a rug
We’d kiss and hug
In the middle of the dance floor
Without a peep
I would stare deep
Into your eyes forevermore
If you were mine
Beauty Divine
Broken spirit would come alive
My saddened soul
Would become whole
For your love I would always strive
With diamond ring
My heart would sing
As I got down on bended knee
My one true love
Angel above
I’m asking you to marry me
If you were mine
By God’s design
I’d see your beautiful smile
As you walked down
In wedding gown
Lovely church's center aisle
We’d say “I Do”
Our love is true
From this day forth we do bewed
You’d be my wife
For my whole life
You would forever share my bed
If you were mine
The sun would shine
All the dark clouds would disappear
If you were mine.
